Hospital Nobo Otrobanda, Phase I Environmental Site Assessment
For Ballast Nedam, we performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for the location where the new hospital is being constructed, to identify recognized environmental conditions using the US Standard ASTM E 1527 05 as a guideline. More specifically: to assess the likely presence of any hazardous substances or petroleum products that indicate an existing, past, or material threat of a release of any hazardous substances or petroleum products into structures on the property or into the ground, groundwater, or surface water of the property.
The ESA involved performing a records review, a site reconnaissance and interviews. The site visit included an on-site inspection with observations made that could indicate a recognized environmental condition. Records were obtained from government and historical sources. The ESA resulted in a layout for the Phase II investigation, which is currently in progress.
